Stone Street Solar Park is a 99MW solar park in Aldington going through DCO planning by the Planning Inspectorate currently.
A smaller 16MW project at St Mary in the Marsh is being submitted to FHDC planning department.
Another 35MW project has recently been made public between Woodchurch and Kenardington and will be submitted to Ashford Borough Council.

UPDATE
The TEC Register list of projects in the 'grid connection queue' list more future energy capacity than the UK actually needs. Following DESNZ's December 2024 'Clean Power 2030' policy announcement it is likely that the list will be reprioritised in early 2025 and many projects will be removed. We will keep you up to date here on developments that affect the Marsh locally, positively or negatively.

NSIPs
Projects over 50MW are all Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) which go through the national Planning Inspectorate and are decided by the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). This typically takes up to 5 years. Local council planning departments can only input into the consultation process.
Locally-decided projects
A further number of smaller solar projects are also proposed for the area including a 16MW solar farm at St Mary in the Marsh. This will be decided by the local FHDC planning department.
